Times Table Rockstars

Well done to these primary students for going green in their Timetables Rockstar Competition! This means that they know ALL their timetables up until 12x! We are very proud of you.

Story Telling Time

Our kindergarten class had a special visit from a special storyteller, Rebecca. We sang songs, danced, and told stories, exploring our different senses through animal sounds and bubbles. We retold the story of Dear Zoo and tried to decide what the best pet would be. We sang Bingo with musical instruments and now cannot get the song out of our heads!

Edudance Concert

Parents of Primary Years 3 - 6 were treated to an incredible Edu-dance performance last week, showcasing choreography and dance. We are so proud of the confidence, energy and joy the children displayed after only seven weeks of practice. Thank you to Jasmine Parker from Edu-dance for your incredible efforts and choreography.

De Vinci Decathlon

Article By Mrs Quinn | Assistant Head of Primary | Curriculum

On 8 March, The University of Western Australia hosted an inspiring display of academic prowess as Year 5 and Year 6 students participated in the acclaimed Da Vinci Decathlon. This year's theme, Utopia, set the stage for a competition like no other, where young minds delved into the realms of engineering, mathematics, art, poetry, and ideation, among other challenging categories. Twenty schools gathered to witness the intellectual showdown as students showcased their skills and creativity in a range of disciplines. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and excitement as the participants dived into the tasks with fervour, each aiming to leave a mark in their respective fields.

From designing innovative engineering solutions to unravelling mathematical mysteries, the students demonstrated a deep understanding of their subjects and a keen eye for detail. Their artistic flair and poetic eloquence displayed during the competition left the audience in awe of the young talents on display.

As the day unfolded, cheers and applause filled the air, highlighting the camaraderie and sportsmanship exhibited by all participants. The Da Vinci Decathlon proved to be a platform not only for academic excellence but also for fostering teamwork and innovation among students from diverse backgrounds.

These young minds have proven that with determination and collaboration, anything is possible. Their journey at the Da Vinci Decathlon is a testament to their potential and a glimpse into a future where innovation and creativity know no bounds.

Uniform Reminders: Black Formal Shoes

We are so glad to see many more students wearing our uniform with pride and respect.

We are still finding many students wearing sports shoes instead of black formal dress shoes. It is clearly stated in the uniform policy that shoes with formal uniform must be formal dress shoes and not look like sports shoes.

If you are unsure of the uniform requirements, they are clearly explained with illustrations in the Family handbook on our website here, on page 45 : https://www.thekingscollege.wa.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/tkc-family-handbook-2024.pdf

We are proud of our new school grounds and we also want our children to wear their uniform with pride and respect. Thank you to the majority of our parents who send their children to school in correct uniform every day, as this helps us to maintain a school atmosphere of pride and respect for self and others.
