YEAR 8 CAMP
YEAR 8 CAMP
As the bus turned the corner, I caught sight of Kinglake Camp nestled amidst lush greenery and towering trees. The camp was surrounded by an abundance of wonderful wildlife with enchanting forests that I couldn't wait to explore.
After getting off the bus, our enthusiastic cohort was welcomed by caring instructors who set a positive tone for our camp experience. These kind and supportive mentors guided us, teaching groups of various abilities throughout the fun.
My favourite activities during camping were the Leap of Faith and Climbing Courses. For the Leap, we harnessed up and climbed a towering tree before jumping off. It was truly a thrilling, nerve-wracking experience that I will never forget.
The Climbing Courses offered a range of unique challenges with varying levels of difficulty to accommodate both beginners and adventurous students. It was always an exhilarating experience to climb towards the top and even more rewarding once you reached it.
After a long day of thrilling activities, it was time to wind down and catch up with friends from other groups. It was always a joy to chat about our own unique experiences during free time, lunch, and dinner. Talking with friends while eating some delicious hot food was one of the best parts of any camp, and Kinglake Camp was no exception!
During the night, engaging in activities was always tons of fun! One of my favourite activities was based on The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games was a team-oriented game that allowed each student to showcase their strengths in a friendly competition. This activity stood out as it was a great way to test our knowledge of the campgrounds and was one of the most memorable moments during the camp.
Overall, Kinglake Camp was an absolute blast! Every activity was engaging, and the experiences shared by myself, and others were unforgettable. The friendly instructors, dedicated teachers, and simply having fun with friends were truly the best. Everyone participated with loads of enthusiasm, making this camp one of the most memorable experiences of the year.
Thank you to all the teachers and instructors who made this all possible!
