Education in Faith News
Lent is a fantastic time for us to reflect on the call to action we experience as Catholics, to follow Jesus' example of outreach, care for others and our world.
This call to action is encapsulated in the church's social teachings. The staff have been working on consolidating and further developing the way we embed these teachings into our Education in Faith Curriculum and the practical opportunities for action presented to the students during their time at St Cecilia's.
This season of Lent is a particularly pertinent moment to reflect on what we can do to live out these teachings through the Lenten commitments we might make to service and sacrifice.
Many of our students have made such commitments in their classes. If you haven't already, it would be timely to ask your children about what they have been trying to commit to during Lent, and discus how in these actions helping them to live out their faith.
Just to provide some context, I have added a short video below which is a good entry point into what Catholic Social Teaching is all about and how it can help bring our faith in Jesus to life.
