Counsellor's Corner

Anxiety at home and school

Offering meaningful support

Last week almost 50 St George's parents and carers spent an evening here at school to learn more about the important issue of anxiety at home and at school.

Thank you to everyone who attended – your presence and engagement were truly appreciated, and it was wonderful to meet many parents in person.  For those who were unable to join us, I'm delighted to share that a recording (below) of the presentation was made available for your convenience.

As the School Counsellor, one of my core commitments is to ensure that our community remains well-informed and equipped to support one another.

Our recent session focused on the important topic of anxiety and how we, as professionals, parents, and peers, can offer meaningful support to those who may be navigating its challenges. In today's fast-paced world, understanding and addressing mental health concerns such as anxiety is paramount.

By fostering open dialogue and providing valuable psychoeducation, we empower our community to approach these issues with compassion, knowledge, and effective strategies for support. Together, we strive to cultivate an environment where every individual feels heard, valued, and supported on their journey towards emotional well-being.

Thank you for your continued partnership in creating a nurturing and inclusive community here at St George's Anglican Grammar School.
