It brings me joy to inform you about the success of the Year 12 Drama Camp that was held last weekend. It was evident that this opportunity for students to grow, developing their self-awareness, expression and collaborative skills is one that the students will hold on to for many years to come.
The students arrived at the camp by bus with an open mind and eager energy. After enjoying dinner, and settling into their dorms, the students then enjoyed an immersive Welcome to Country before making their way to a performance space to watch “ACRO”, Adam’s award-winning show about living with autism. The following day, students participated in voice, movement, directing and script interpretation workshops where the students developed their expressive movement choices, vocal range, directorial skills and approaches to solo script work.
The students threw themselves into socialising with other schools and committing to developing relationships with one another. Although students made friends quickly with others, it was lovely to watch them come back together at the end of the night and share stories and communal wellbeing at the end of the day.
The 2024 Year 12 Drama Camp was a great success with many memories made. We look forward to running this camp for the future students in ATAR and APEx Drama.

The next exciting event on the St George’s Music calendar is Sounds @ Sunset, held this term at Planet Royale in Northbridge.
After a term of dedicated rehearsing, our brilliant rock bands, soloists and ensembles will take to the stage to perform an amazing array of pieces. There will be something for everyone including songs by Katy Perry, Missy Higgins, Greenday, and Gotye to name just a few. Some die hard fans will say that a concert isn’t complete without some Taylor Swift . . . so we will deliver!
