Year 10 Luna Park Transitions Excursion

Our Year 10 Transition Excursion to Luna Park was a fantastic success, providing students with an opportunity to come together and further strengthen their identity as Homesteaders. The day was filled with energy, excitement and plenty of laughter, as students embraced everything the park had to offer. From thrilling rides to shared moments in between, it was great to see students stepping outside their comfort zones and fully engaging in the experience.

A highlight of the day was the way the excursion brought the cohort closer together. Students had the chance to connect with peers they may not usually spend time with, leading to the formation of new friendships and the strengthening of existing ones. The relaxed and fun environment allowed students to build confidence, develop social connections and create lasting memories as a group.

Opportunities like this play an important role in supporting a smooth transition into Year 10. By fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection early on, students are better equipped to feel supported and engaged in their learning journey. Overall, it was a great day enjoyed by all, and a positive step towards building a united, inclusive and connected Homestead community.

Pathways

Congratulations to all Year 12 students who undertook their pathways conversations. It was a pleasure hearing about everyone’s plans for the future and how excited you all are for those nervous steps beyond the Homestead gates. For those students who missed out due to various reasons, I will arrange to meet with you at Camp OR with Brenton at Homestead during the on-campus program.

Remember, we will have another set of conversations in term 3 to ensure we are all on the same page and to prepare for VTAC and the like. Watch COMPASS for any and all updates in the pathways space as this will be the easiest way to communicate with each of you and your families.

Have a well-deserved break
