LOTE Summary Term 1:

This term in Mandarin classes, Year 5 and 6 students started the new school year with The Lion Dances. We studied the Chinese traditional performance and enjoyed their performance at assembly. Year 1 and 2 learnt to tell numbers in Mandarin and use numbers to tell dates and age of themselves and family members. Year 3 and 4 students studied another type of Chinese performing arts, the Beijing Opera. They will complete an opera mask and learn how colours represent personalities in the Opera.
