Planning Week

Over the last week, our teachers having been engaging in a day of planning in preparation for Term 2.

Planning days provide teachers with valuable time to step back from the day-to-day pace of the classroom and focus on the bigger picture of teaching and learning. These days are not simply about organising lessons; they are about thoughtfully designing learning experiences that are purposeful, engaging, and responsive to student needs.

A key strength of our planning day is the collaborative approach taken by staff. Teachers work together in teams to review curriculum requirements, share expertise, and reflect on what has been most effective in their classrooms. This collaboration ensures consistency across year levels and classrooms, while also allowing teachers to learn from one another and refine their practice.

Through this process, teachers gain clarity around what needs to be taught, how it will be taught, and how student learning will be assessed. This clarity is crucial not only for teachers, but also for students. When teaching is well-planned and structured, students benefit from clear learning intentions, purposeful lessons, and a logical sequence of content that supports their understanding and growth.

Ultimately, planning days play a vital role in maintaining the high standards we strive for as a school. They ensure that our teaching is intentional, aligned, and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for all students. By investing time in careful preparation and collaboration, we are better equipped to provide rich and meaningful learning opportunities that support every child to succeed.
