What’s been happening in 2 Belmore?

This term, 2 Belmore have loved starting the year together in our new class and have been busy engaging in a range of exciting learning across different subjects.

In Mathematics, we have been learning how to count larger collections more efficiently using structures such as ten frames. Students have explored two-dimensional shapes, discovering how shapes can be combined to make new shapes, and investigated patterns, including growing, shrinking and repeating patterns.

In Science and Technology, we have been learning about sound. Students have been exploring how sound is made and how it travels, and they loved investigating which materials worked best for creating a sound shaker instrument.

In HSIE, we have been learning about how communication has changed over time. Students have explored different ways people have communicated in the past and today. We also learned how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples share stories and information through song, dance and symbols.
