Stage 1 Author Talk 

Author Visit – Ashleigh Barton

On Friday 20th March, 1 Jackson and 2 Belmore attended an Author Talk with Ashleigh Barton at Goulburn Mulwaree Library.

Students enjoyed listening to how Ashleigh gets her ideas for her wide range of children’s books. They also loved hearing her read two of her picture books, Dinosaur in My Pocket and Hedgehog or Echidna.

During the session, students helped create a new verse for Hedgehog or Echidna:

My name is Wallaby and that’s Kangaroo,

My coat is one colour and hers is at least two.

I am quite short and she is quite tall,

She only eats grass, but I eat it all.

The students had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute learning about what great authors do!
