The fab five food groups are here to help makeover your family’s eating habits and ensure they’re getting enough 🥦 vegetables, 🍓fruit, 🍞 cereals and wholegrains, 🍗 meat, fish, poultry or alternatives and 🧀 dairy or alternatives each day, with teens needing the amount of serves shown above.

Our latest National Child Health Poll released today found that over 90% of Aussie parents and teens don’t know the recommended serves of vegetables, proteins, wholegrains or dairy outlined in the Australian dietary guidelines.

A balanced diet across these five food groups helps with healthy growth and development as well as sets kids up for positive eating habits later in life, which can decrease the risk of chronic health issues such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity.

If your child has been diagnosed with allergies or medical conditions that impact what they can eat, discuss any concerns with your doctor or healthcare provider.
