Industrial Action 

Late last week an ‘in principle’ agreement has been made between the Education Department and the AEU, all industrial action has been suspended, with the exception of restrictions on written reports for this semester. As such, students in classes where the action is applicable, will only receive reports that show student progression points, work habits and school values. There will be no individual written commentary on any other aspects. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress in the parent/teacher interviews in Week 10. 

Bushfire Shelter In Place (SIP) 

The VSBA have have just completed their works across the school in order to make it compliant as a safe shelter in the event of a bushfire. 

Education Support Day 

Last Friday we celebrated ES Day to acknowledge and appreciate all our non-teaching staff. ES are integral members of the school and include administrative, maintenance, integration aides, canteen and health/wellbeing staff members. 

ANGAIR Propagation Day

This week, Anglesea Primary School once again proudly partnered with the wonderful team from ANGAIR for a whole-school Propagation Day. Across Tuesday, students worked alongside a dedicated group of volunteers to plant more than 100 plants throughout the school grounds while also learning the art of propagation through cuttings. Every student planted their own Goodenia ovata cutting, which they will nurture and care for throughout the remainder of the year before taking home to plant in their own gardens late in Term 4.

It was an absolutely brilliant effort by all involved. It is a genuine pleasure to work alongside such a passionate, knowledgeable and generous group of people who give so willingly to support our students. The enthusiasm and care shown by the ANGAIR volunteers flowed directly into the children, extending through their families and into the broader community.

We cannot speak highly enough of the long-standing relationship between ANGAIR and Anglesea Primary School. The impact of this partnership will continue for many years to come, inspiring future generations of students to develop the same passion, respect and commitment for the environment as the incredible members of ANGAIR. The future is certainly bright with so many young environmental leaders growing through this partnership.
