The term has started well and students are doing incredible things not only in school but also in the community. We have had a number of students out in the community completing work trials and work experience, as well as our Blue Group participating in a number of community activities through their engagement with the Centre for Participation.
There are always opportunities available for students who are looking to enter full-time employment. Our senior teachers can connect students with work experience and work trials and arrange meetings with our local apprenticeships and traineeships coordinator. Exiting school to a full time job is a target for many of our students, and they are encouraged to speak with their teachers if they need any further support with this.
We are very grateful to everyone who made the time to attend Parent/Teacher Interviews last week. It was a great day with many great conversations about the path forward for our young people. If you were unable to attend and are yet to speak with your child’s teacher, please reach out as soon as possible.
Our Blue Group students were involved in ANZAC Day last week, attending the remembrance service held on the main campus on Friday 24 April. Our McKenzie Creek students also spent time last week completing ANZAC based activities.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to continue reaching out to program leaders if there is anything we can do to support you and your child. This is often the toughest time of the year to get to school, and we are here to help however we can.

Welcome back to term 2! It has been a positive start, with students engaged in a range of projects in their core and elective subjects. It was wonderful seeing so many students and families at parent-teacher interviews in week 1, setting the foundation for a successful term ahead.
Students have been putting in impressive work in Systems, building robot moths. They have been learning and using a range of skills, including soldering, gluing, sawing and wiring to create small robots that detect and follow light. Alongside the hands-on project, they have been learning about different power sources.
In Home Eco, students are becoming more familiar with the kitchen space and getting comfortable with common tools and skills. They have created a number of sweet and savoury dishes along the way. Students have also been building their teamwork skills and ability to follow multi-step instructions.
Please continue to reach out to Ebony or Darcy if your child is absent, or if you have any questions or concerns.
