Foundation
Dear Families,
Welcome to Term 2! We hope you all had a relaxing holiday with your family. We're ready for another term full of laughter, fun and learning in Foundation! It's been wonderful to see and hear how excited the children are about being back at school. There were many 'I love school!!' and 'I don't want it to be holidays!!' heard this week. During our first few days back we've been busy reconnecting with each other and starting our new units of learning.
A Foundation and Year 1 Assembly will take place on the 30th of April at 2:40pm. All are welcome to join. Have a lovely weekend.

Year 1
Welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful break over the Easter holidays. It has been so lovely to see everyone again and to reconnect as a class. We really enjoyed hearing about what the children did over the break. You can see a snapshot of this during our Circle Time in the photo below. Before sharing, we talked about how sometimes people go away, and other times they stay home and enjoy a quieter break and that both are equally special and important.
The children looked incredibly smart for their class photos, thank you for helping them come so well prepared. At the moment, we are reorganising our home reader books for the term, so there will be no books sent home this week. The exciting news is that we have ordered some new books as well, yay! We can’t wait to share these with the children very soon. Wishing you all a lovely and restful weekend.

Year 2
Hello Families,
WELCOME to the new term. We've had a wonderful week with our teaching-learning journey. We celebrated everyone's return and got to break down the Easter raffle basket we won! We had holiday stories to write and share. We looked so wonderful for our school photos and we finally got to sort out all of our 'materials' from home into groups (Inquiry) In the coming weeks we will be learning more about place value (Maths) best story writing strategies( Language) special sacraments we celebrate and making good choices(Religion) and understanding how to reuse, reduce and recycle some materials. We're so excited about the new term and to see what can discover and learn ahead. We have received our new class readers - the home reading program will begin next week.
Year 3/4 T
Welcome back to Term 2! We hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable break. It has been wonderful to see the students return refreshed, settled and ready to engage in their learning.
We have had a great start to the term, coming together across both 3/4 classes to launch our new Inquiry unit on states of matter. Students worked collaboratively to create Y-charts, exploring solids, liquids and gases by describing what each state looks like, feels like and sounds like. This shared learning experience sparked thoughtful discussions and curiosity, setting a strong foundation for our new unit ahead!
We are really looking forward to a positive and productive term, continuing to build on this learning and seeing students continue to grow.
Year 3/4AL
This week in 3 / 4 AL on returning to term 2, we started by listening to each other and what we did during the school holidays.
Our new inquiry unit is all about Science- “Why does matter matter?. We asked students to 'draw a Scientist' and discussed common themes and misconceptions. We talked about the many different types of scientists. We look forward to exploring changes in states through a variety of experiments this term.
In Italian, we have also started learning about Leonardo Di Vinci and how he was a scientist as well.
In writing, we are looking at Poetry devices and how we use them.
We now also understand the terms “Numerator” and “Denominator”” as we are learning about fractions in Maths.
We have had a great start to term 2!
Year 5/6 M and 5/6 J
Nirav: Learning about puberty has been a valuable experience as we are growing into adulthood.
Katalina: I enjoyed researching this topic and how it makes me very comfortable with my body.
Chloe: “What’s Growing On?” was a fun and interesting topic to learn about. It was all about different parts of the body and going through puberty.
Mason: I really enjoyed listening to all the unique presentations and how everyone kept their work appropriate.
Aylah: This topic was a really fun topic. I got to learn a lot about the human body and what happens when we hit puberty.
Raffaele: I really enjoyed finding out in a very respectful way, what happens when we go through puberty.
Lawrence: It was interesting to learn about puberty and a little bit funny too.
Kaitlyn: Personally, at first I thought that this topic was a bit uncomfortable to talk about. But now that I learnt that it’s normal, I feel more comfortable talking about it in front of others.
Shamus: I learnt a lot about this topic. It’s so interesting and it was a lot of fun to do.
Martin: I enjoyed seeing everyone’s presentation.
Azariah: I really liked the way that other students presented what they had learnt about puberty and I liked how they wrote it in their own words.
Cody: I enjoyed learning new things that I didn’t know before this topic.
Laura: At the very start of this topic, I absolutely did not know anything about it. But throughout the term that we did it, I have learnt so much about it.
Brenton: I really liked how everyone was very mature during our topic.
Layla: I enjoyed finding out new and interesting facts about how puberty works and how our bodies change during this time.
