Dear Parents/Guardians,
School Council Election
At the close of nominations on Monday we had received the following nominations for the 1 year parent positions:
Jenna Harvey
Brett Harris
Kylie Moroney
As the number of nominations is less than or equal to the number of vacancies, I declare all nominees elected to the 2025 School Council.
A huge thank you to our outgoing School Councillors for their contribution and time on our Council:
Dylan Cuttriss ( 5 years)
Emma Solomano (1 year)
Meg Beach (1 year)
Schools Clean up Australia Day
Next Friday, 28th February, classes will be involved in the Schools ‘Clean up Australia Day Event’. We have classes cleaning the school grounds and others heading out into our community. Thank you to all staff involved in these activities, it is great to see our students out and about helping in the town.
New School Award
Each week at assembly we will be awarding one student the 'Its cool to be kind' award. We are on the look out for students who are looking out for others, including others, encouraging others and helping those around them. We want to see students being 'Upstanders' not by standers when they see an issue. This award comes with a $25 RBN voucher courtesy of Community House. A shout out to Oakley Tarrant for this town-wide initiative and sourcing the funding.
School Review
Our 3-day review process begins on Thursday 27th February. The Review looks at our progress, barriers and achievements against our current School Strategic Plan (SSP) and establishes a platform for the school to build a new strategic plan for the 4 years ahead. The school last undertook this process in 2020. This is a great opportunity to work alongside our students and school community and make plans for our school moving forward. There will be an opportunity for parents to contribute and have a say on Tuesday the 4th March at the parent forum. More information will be available regarding the time after Day 1.
Contact Details
Have your contact details changed? Over the coming weeks families will receive an email message containing the information we currently have on the system. Please read through and check this carefully, sign the bottom of the first page, and return the form to the office at earliest convenience.
Labour Day Public Holiday
Parents are reminded that there is a Labour Day holiday on Monday 10th March. There will be no school on this day, in addition to this a student free day will be held on Tuesday 11th March where staff are engaged in professional learning.
