Welcome to the new school year!
I am thrilled to have returned from parental leave and be back at school full-time. Everyone has been so kind in welcoming me back, although at times, it feels like I never left.
There is always a sense of excitement around a school at the beginning of the year. So many new relationships to make, routines to learn and so many new possibilities. What a privilege it is for me to return to such an amazing school and be a part of the fun of setting up how we want our school to be and how we will work together to achieve our goals.
It has been lovely to see the students and staff settle in with each other and collaboratively set up their learning spaces. I have visited all classrooms and it is so nice to everyone so calm and ready to learn.
Updates: New Gaga Pits coming
Students were very excited to see that construction started this week on one of our new Gaga Pits that should be open later this week. The 3rd Gaga Pit will be installed in term 2. This will allow more students to join inmore regularly. There will be one Gaga pit allocated to P-2 Students, one for 3/4 students and one for 5/6 students.
Landscaping works
Fundraising money from 2024 has been allocated to landscape the front entrance of the school (Batman St). This will bring new life to the front of the school. See below the designs, the works should commence in the middle of the year and take 3-4 weeks.
I am keeping this newsletter short and sweet, however wanted to officially welcome you all, especially our new families. Please reach out to me at any time if you need anything. My email is tyson.smith@education.vic.gov.au
