Gospel Reflection – Luke 6:27-38
In this coming week's Gospel, Jesus calls us to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, and give without expecting anything in return. These words challenge us to rise above our natural instincts and embrace a way of life rooted in kindness, generosity, and mercy.
At St Mary’s, we strive to ingrain these values in our students each day. Whether it’s showing patience in the classroom, including others in the playground, or responding with kindness in difficult moments, we encourage our children to live out the message of Jesus in their actions. True strength is found not in retaliation, but in forgiveness and compassion.
This passage also reminds us that generosity and kindness should not be conditional. As a school community, we have the opportunity to model this by supporting those in need, giving our time to others, and creating an environment where every child feels valued and loved.
May we take these words to heart and continue building a school community where respect, empathy, and kindness are at the core of everything we do.
