Data Collection Schedule 2025
Best Start Kindergarten Assessment
Kindergarten Teachers will be completing the Best Start Assessments. The assessment is accessed via the ALAN platform. ALAN is now accessed via CSNSW NetID and not the DET Portal. Testing is in the first 5 weeks of school (29th January – 1st March). Once the assessments have been finalised, could LoPs please notify Briony Martin for data to be visualised on the ecosystem?
Leader As Coach
A two-day professional development day for leaders facilitated by Catherine Jackson from Leopard Tree on Thursday, 3rd & Friday, 4th April 2025, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm at Armidale Catholic Schools Office, Angela Merici Room.
This program is all about making coaching simple, accessible and integral to the way you lead. The ultimate goal is to build capability, independence and confidence in those you lead and support. Regardless of whether you have some experience in coaching or this is new for you, these days will help you to integrate a coaching approach into your leadership habits and decisions.
This is an optional professional learning opportunity, and the cost of attendance is at each school's expense. For more information, please see this flyer
UniSuper- Get super organised in 2025
Many of us will make a financial resolution this year with the desire to save extra cash, spend less, shop around more, pay down debt and put more into super, all on the list. If you've struggled with resolutions in the past, approaching them with a clear plan and actionable steps can make all the difference.
Get started with one of your biggest investments – your superannuation.
Book a 30-minute super check.
Even if you’re decades away from retirement, it’s worth checking in to make sure your super is on track to give you the lifestyle you want in your later years. A simple review of your current position may be enough to achieve this.
One of the best ways to do this is with a 30-minute appointment with a UniSuper consultant. They can provide general advice to help you with subjects like insurance, lost super, retirement planning, and investment options. It’s a great way to engage and understand your super. Book an appointment in person, via video or over the phone, or call 1800 823 842.
UniSuper Advice is operated by UniSuper Management Pty Ltd ABN 91 006 961 799 which is licensed to provide financial advice.
The information is of a general nature and doesn’t consider your personal circumstances. Before making decisions, you should consider whether the information is appropriate for your circumstances otherwise seek financial advice
February Census - Friday 14th
The Finance team are making some changes to how this February Census is collected and reported due to a very short submission date from CSNSW. On Friday 14th, the Finance Team will extract data from both the payroll system & Compass which will be reviewed by the team and then directly uploaded for submission.
What do you need to do?
In regard to the staffing data, there is nothing for you to do. HR & payroll will ensure that the data is up to date in the payroll system. In regard to enrolments, please ensure that Compass is up to date. This means:
- That all new enrolments who have attended your school are showing as “active students”
That all known leaving students have been “archived” and are not reflected in Compass as active.
The Finance team will provide each school with their Census Report following submission to CSNSW. If you have any questions or need clarification as to what is now required from you and your school admin staff, please contact Helen Bentham or Fiona McCann.
2025 Student Residential Address and Other Information Collection
This collection opens this week. The Collection data will be extracted on Monday, 24 February 2025, for students currently enrolled at the school and will exclude Full-fee paying overseas students and Distance Education Students.
ACTION REQUIRED
Step 1: Send Parents/guardians the 2025 Student Residential Address and Other Information collection notice advising them about the address collection
Step 2: This year's address validation process is a little different. Historically, the Compass and CEnet teams would coordinate an annual process to validate all CEnet school addresses over a few days for a total of 3 validations. The validation process is now automatic once a change of address is saved.
Step 3: On 24 February 2025, The Finance Team will extract the address, prepare the information for uploading, and complete the data collection and declaration on behalf of each school.
If you have any questions or need clarification on what is required from you and your school admin staff, don't hesitate to get in touch with Fiona McCann or Alana Hatch.
