Principal's Post

Welcome Back

We hope that you have had the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned break and are feeling refreshed and recharged, especially after a busy Semester 1. With the new term commencing, we are looking forward to the many opportunities to enjoy the holistic learning experiences offered by the College.

Premier's VCE Awards

315 of Victoria’s top performing students were recognised at this year’s Premier’s VCE Awards, including three international students, seven students who completed the VCE Vocational Major program with distinction, and 23 Top All-Round VCE High Achievers who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects.

Rylan Peiris received a Study Award for Religion & Society. Angus Cassidy was recognised as an Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student. This places them among the top-achieving 2024 VCE students among Victoria.

The entire Mazenod College community is proud of Ryan and Angus and would like to congratulate them on being the recipients of such prestigious awards.

Year 12 Formal

At the Year 12 Formal at the end of last term, students exhibited exemplary behaviour, displaying respect and maturity throughout the event. They adhered to etiquette, interacted courteously, and maintained a positive atmosphere, reflecting their readiness to celebrate and commemorate their academic achievements responsibly. I want to congratulate and highlight how exceptional they have been this year and look forward to celebrating many achievements in the months ahead.

High School Musical

Students from Avila College and Mazenod College are primed to deliver a vibrant performance of High School Musical, bringing energy, talent, and teamwork to the stage. The production captures the spirit of the beloved Disney classic, featuring impressive vocals, dynamic choreography, and heartfelt acting. Audiences will be swept up in the infectious enthusiasm as students portray the journey of friendship, self-discovery, and breaking boundaries. This collaborative effort showcases the incredible creativity and dedication of both school communities. Opening night is Thursday July 24 and concludes on Saturday July 26. Good luck to all involved.

Junior School Assembly

At Junior School Assembly, students were acknowledged for their attitude and performance during Semester 1. The awards reflect the values to which we hope all our students aspire, Academic Excellence, Christian Leadership, Commitment and Perseverance. Our celebration of academic excellence has been a long-standing tradition at the College and the semester-based awards are one of our customs that promotes and challenges our students to shine. Christian Leadership is the essence of who we are. How we demonstrate and live the Gospel message can be recognised by contribution to liturgy, social justice and leadership. The Commitment and Perseverance Award is particularly significant in our contemporary learning environment, the prioritised attributes in the modern workplace and the societal challenges faced by all of us now. Congratulations to all the recipients, the parents, carers and the staff for their contribution to their achievements.

All the best,
