Pasta Party in the Kitchen Garden!
This term, things are getting deliciously messy in the Kitchen Garden as our students roll up their sleeves and dive into the art of pasta making! We're exploring all the amazing types of pasta we can create – using both fancy tools and just our hands.
We kicked things off with a crowd favourite – Pumpkin and Ricotta Gnocchi – made with pumpkins picked straight from our very own garden beds! After roasting and mashing the sweet, golden pumpkin, students got stuck into mixing it with flour, eggs and creamy ricotta to create soft, fluffy gnocchi. The aroma drifting through the kitchen was mouth watering and it smelled as good as it tasted!
Next up was a special Year 3 and 4 Gnocchi Masterclass, where students became mini pasta chefs. They whipped up a simple (but seriously tasty) Ricotta Gnocchi, paired with a rich Butter and Sage Sauce.
This week, our students learnt the art of handmade Semolina pasta- Capunti. After watching a demonstration, everyone had a go at rolling and shaping their pasta to perfection – just right for soaking up that golden, herby butter.
From flour-dusted fingers to proud smiles around the table, it’s safe to say the pasta adventures have been a hit! We can't wait to explore more shapes, flavours, and techniques as Term 3 continues.
Stay tuned for more pasta magic coming soon!
