Dear Kingswood Community,

Welcome back to Term 3! We’ve had a fantastic start, with calm and orderly classrooms, strong routines and a genuine sense of focus and positivity across the school. It’s always a pleasure to see our students and staff settling in with such enthusiasm.

Celebrating Our Students and Staff

Last week, our Year 5 students returned from their exciting camp at Cave Hill Creek. They represented Kingswood with maturity and spirit—embracing challenges, bonding as a team and making memories to last a lifetime.

Meanwhile, our Preps celebrated their 100th Day of School in style! It was a joy to witness the creativity on display as the children arrived dressed as little old men and women. There was laughter, fun, and even a few giggles over Mr Davies’ uncanny resemblance to Sooshi Mango!

We also marked a special milestone for one of our beloved staff members. At this week’s assembly, we celebrated Sharron Cramer’s 35 years of dedicated teaching. With a tiara made of Shapes, heartfelt flowers from the children, and even a student-performed rap, it was a surprise celebration fitting for someone who gives so much to our community.

Recognition and Progress

Kingswood is proud to be recognised as a finalist for Best Primary School (Government) in Australia at the Australian Education Awards. While our leadership team heads to Sydney for the ceremony this Friday, we know that the nomination alone is a testament to the work of every staff member, student and family at Kingswood. Thank you for making our school a place that inspires curious minds and fosters a strong sense of community.

Looking Ahead

This year also marks the beginning of our School Review, a reflective and forward-thinking process that occurs every four years. It will run throughout the remainder of 2025 and into early 2026, helping us celebrate successes and refine our goals as we shape the next chapter of learning at Kingswood.

Prep Enrolments for 2026

Prep offers for 2026 have now been sent out. Based on local demographics, we anticipate running three Prep classes next year instead of our usual four. Thank you to all the families who have enrolled—it’s always exciting to welcome our newest learners!

Book Fair Success

A big thank you to everyone who supported our recent Book Fair. It was another outstanding success, with excited students streaming through the doors and plenty of parent volunteers on hand to help. We are always thrilled to see such strong community support for reading and literacy.

Staff Reflections and School Operations

Mid-year Performance Reviews are underway for all staff, aligning with our 2025 School Plan. I’m continually impressed by the professionalism and focus our team brings to every learning space.

In other news, we are currently finalising the appointment of a new Out of Hours School Care (OHSC) provider. The tender process is well underway and recommendations will be brought to School Council shortly.

Thank you all once again for your continued support and involvement in school life. We look forward to the many exciting events and learning experiences still to come this term.
