Child Safe Standards at MPRPS
The Child Safe Standards are compulsory minimum standards for all Victorian schools to ensure they are well-prepared to protect children from abuse and neglect. To create and maintain a child-safe school, Mount Pleasant Road Primary School takes the welfare of our students and families very seriously.
We adhere to all Child Safe Standards, which ensure that:
- child safety and wellbeing are embedded in school leadership, governance and culture.
- policies and procedures exist that document how schools are safe for children, young people and students.
- families and communities are involved in our school’s efforts to keep children and young people safe
- people working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
- a greater focus is placed on safety for Aboriginal children and young people
- physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.
- implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved.
Our Child Safety policies are available on our website. If you would like further information or require support, please contact the leadership team.
