Welcome back to Term 3!
I hope that you were all able to enjoy a nice break with your family even though it was a very cold one. I also hope that you managed to avoid picking up one of the many illnesses that seem to be about this winter.
It has been lovely to see students returning energised and ready for another fun term together! This week we have been celebrating NAIDOC week in classrooms. We do this every year when we return in Term 3 as this special time always falls in the term two break. This year’s theme is ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy’. We are celebrating the leadership of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the guidance of elders and the highlights of the legacy they have built. Students will be sharing texts and participating in activities in the classroom as well as in specialist programs.
This term we will also be celebrating book week and footy day. As previously mentioned, both days will include a much-loved parade. At ENPS we love our parades and that includes the staff!
On Thursday a large group of students represented our school at the District Athletics Carnival. It was very pleasing to observe our students displaying excellent sportspersonship and representing our school so proudly. Congratulations to all our amazing athletes on progressing to District level competition.
Next week we have 3 teams representing our school at district level. On Monday our girls footy team are competing. On Tuesday our netball team are competing and on Wednesday our soccer team is competing. We are so proud of our students for making it to district and wish them the very best in their games on the day.
At assembly on Friday we will be awarding student prizes and certificates for being the best library borrowers for the term. Our Library Captains will be making these presentations at our assembly that will commence at 2:50pm this week.
On Sunday morning we will be running the Eltham Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. Thank you to the many families that have volunteered to be part of the roster and cook or serve sausages to the community. This is a great opportunity for us to raise further funds to put towards shading the assembly court before Summer 2025. If you are at Bunnings on Sunday, be sure to pop by and say Hi as we’d love to see you!
Enjoy your first weekend of term three!
