SO WHAT’S IN STORE THIS YEAR?
Live music and student and parent performances: Kelly (Performing Arts teacher) is coordinating a fabulous array of performances from our FPS students and we are on the look out for parents /teachers/ students to perform too! So if you are part of a band, choir, dance or cultural performance group and would like to perform on the day as part of the live entertainment, please get in touch!
- Games and activities: Our wonderful OSHC provider, LeapKids have confirmed that they will be supporting us again this year with lots of fun games and activities. We are also planning to have some additional workshop activities, a craft station, and potentially a silent disco and giant box maze for which we will need LOTS of boxes if anyone has any!
Delicious food stalls: This year Marian Hilowle is looking to cook an even bigger African Feast than last year, which is guaranteed to make mouths water! She would love as many of the community to help as possible, please get in contact with her if you can assist: 0421 494 765. We are also planning French delicacies like crepes and baguettes as well as the fete favourites, like the BBQ sausage sizzle, the bake sale, barbe à papa (fairy floss), ice-cream and lemonade stand.
Exciting market stalls: Our 2nd hand book sale will return as well as our craft/jewellery stall! We’ll be calling our for second hand books and your hand made items soon so start sorting, start making, start creating! We would particularly love creations from FPS kids so get crafting!
170th YEAR CELEBRATIONS! We are planning ways to celebrate and mark the 170 years of our school! If you know of alumni who might like to be involved, please get in touch!
GOT ANY OTHER IDEAS? We’ve been loving hearing everyone’s ideas, particularly from the kids, so please have a conversation with your kids about what they loved at last year’s fete and what they would love to see at this year’s fete and we’ll see if we can make it happen!
FETE COMMITTEE
It’s fabulous to see the interest and enthusiasm from so many parents to be involved in the fête this year! Thank you to everyone who has attended the first couple of meetings or been in touch!
If you would like to be involved in coordinating and organising the fete in the lead up (such as coordinating and organising the stalls, activities, entertainment and fundraising in the lead up), there’s still plenty of space and time to join us!
In particular, we are looking to fill the following roles:
-Stall coordinators (being the contact person for parents running stalls both in the lead up and also helping to manage logistics on the day of the fete)
-Coordinate the following stalls: BBQ/drinks, Crepes, Lollies, French bakery, Facepainting/hair, Box Maze, Mystery jars (and any other ideas welcome!)
-Logistics helping to source marquees, trestle tables, transport, source volunteers, set up, pack down.
If you’re interested, just sign up at the front office or you can contact the fete co-ordinators: Evelyn Tadros evelyntadros@gmail.com 0402 137 182 or Charlotte George cclgeorge82@gmail.com 0410 454 413.
If you can’t commit to another committee but you have skills, goods, services or ideas that may be beneficial for the day, please also let us know!
For those who wish to volunteer on the day, we will send out a volunteer roster closer to the fete that you can sign up to. We will need lots of hands to make light work!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- This year, we will be allocating classes to be in charge of certain activities/stalls so keep an ear out for this. In the meantime, we are looking for any staff, parents or students who:
- can source or have lots of large boxes for our box maze;
- would like to run an activity or game during the fete;
- would be interested in sourcing, making or donating items;
- have skills in facepainting, braiding/plaiting/styling hair, painting henna;
have contacts with businesses or organisations who could support the fete financially, or make a donation of services or goods to our silent auction or loan us marquees and trestle tables.
We would love it if you could approach them! A letter in English and a letter in French are here as well as a sponsorship flyer showing the options for them to support us and a donations flyer showing options to donate. If you approach a business, please just jot their name down in the Fete Google Spreadsheet so we can keep track and make sure we don’t double up.
Raffle/Silent auction items:
- We are looking for any parents who would be able to source items for our raffle/online auction such as:
- Any unwanted gifts or vouchers that could be regifted
- Artworks

HOW YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP OUR COMMUNITY
After the successful funds raised for the upgrade of our George St playground, this year all funds will go towards refurbishing our Harmony Garden and creating a peaceful space where students can connect with nature, reflect and learn. It will be a lasting legacy for our school and a vital part of our inclusive learning environment.
