Resilience Project

Juniors Fortnightly Recap
This fortnight in the Resilience Project we have started a new topic around "Strengths and Qualities". We discussed how we are all unique from each other with different skills, strengths and talents. We used some children's strengths cards to identify our own strengths and shared them in our Resilience Project journals. Examples of strengths that were shared in our discussions: "I am good at caring" , "I am good at helping", "I am good at sport" and "I am good at being a friend".
Seniors Fortnightly Recap
This week the Seniors are continuing with the topic of Mindfulness. This week have talked about the benefits of mindfulness in a busy world, and when we need to regulate our emotions. We have used the idea of a shaken glitter jar to demonstrate when our brain is needing time to slow down, and when we are calm the glitter jar has settled. We have been exploring different types of mindful activities, and this week we went on a mindful walk. The class also tried some yoga poses as a different type of mindful activity.

Support From Home: At school, we are proud to be using The Resilience Project to help students build important life skills in resilience, gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. These evidence-based lessons support wellbeing and emotional growth in fun and practical ways.
To continue this learning at home, we encourage families to visit http://www.theresilienceproject.com.au/at-home .The website offers simple activities, videos, and conversation starters you can use together to build a positive and connected home environment that strengthens what we're doing at school.
