Netball
It was an exciting start to the second round of the College netball season, with all teams showing great effort and determination across their matches.
The Thunderbirds played a thrilling game against Monivae, finishing in a well-deserved draw, with strong defensive work and some strong intercepts on display. Unfortunately, the Vixens were forced to forfeit due to a lack of players being available.
The Mavericks faced a tough Monivae side and, despite a narrow loss by 3 goals, showed impressive defensive pressure and great drive through the centre. Thanks to Isabella Malseed for filling in the coaching role this week. The Firebirds battled hard in a competitive game, standing out for their teamwork, persistence, and improvement across the court. A big shout out of appreciation to the girls from the Junior School who filled in. A lot of players helped out by playing for the Mavericks and the Firebirds this week.
The Rubies met a strong Hamilton North team and, although they went down, showed great effort, resilience, and a positive attitude throughout. Sapphires claimed a solid win, demonstrating excellent teamwork, control through the mid-court, and consistent goal shooting.
A big thank you to our coordinators and organisers for getting this season underway, your time and dedication are appreciated by all players, coaches, and supporters.
