Boarding
Mr Andrew Monk, Director of Boarding
Boarding has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have loved the ability to spend every moment of each day with some of my best mates that I have made through the Boarding House. Receiving the Anita Macdonald Award was a massive honour and I would firstly like to thank Mr Monk and Andrea for making the Boarding House such a homely and welcoming environment. I’m grateful to Brian, Glenn, Matt and Pip and the other boarding staff for looking after us boys at night and keeping us safe.
I would especially like to thank Lise who was the Speirs House mother in Year 7 and 8 for helping with my transition to boarding life. Finally, I would like to thank my parents for the opportunity to board which has given me so many amazing memories and opportunities.

With the nice weather upon us we have had some wonderful evenings to share together. Boarders have made the most of the spring sunshine with a fun break from study, playing afternoon cricket and golf.
The cricket match on the front oval was filled with laughs and some not-so-serious competition. It was so good to see and hear boarders from different year levels together and both Houses involved. Meanwhile, others have enjoyed a relaxed round of golf, working on their swing or just relaxing on the course just over the road from the Boardo - a reminder of the opportunities boarding life offers at College.

The Wednesday morning Run Club kicked off this week at 6:30 am, marking a fantastic start to the term. The five of us kick-started our day in wonderful conditions, albeit a little chilly. Taking on distances ranging from 2km to just over 4km, the philosophy of the Run Club is simple — set yourself a challenge and share that journey together. It’s not about how fast you run, but about being part of a group and getting fit at the same time. I’m not just an advocate for walking, jogging and runnin,g but an advocate to get your day started in the outdoors and with others. A wonderful beginning to what promises to be a positive weekly tradition.

Who doesn't like a piece of pizza? Our Year 12 boarders had a brief break this week between studying for their exams. A jovial pizza competition ensued in the Speirs House, with the winner, College Captain Jack Jarvis.
Jack created an amazing pesto, carrot and cheese pizza! Please reach out to Jack if you would like the recipe! I have been told it was actually quite nice. The pizza competition was rightfully judged by Skye and Chloe Headlam, with Olive as the taste tester.
