It was with much anticipation we waited for Week 4 and the opening of the biennial Junior School Art Exhibition, and we were not disappointed. The quality of art on display was delightful. Congratulations to Mrs Cameron and the ELC 4 to Year 6 artists on a wonderful collection of paintings, drawings and ceramics. The exhibition will be open through to Friday after school.
The following students were awarded ‘Star Student’ awards at this week’s Assembly.
Year 4 - Eloise Bufton, for being a kind and supportive peer to her classmates. Eloise is always willing to help others and consistently demonstrates empathy, cooperation, and care within the classroom. She is a wonderful example of how to support and uplift those around her.
Pen Licenses: Bobby Giles, Harry Parfrey, George Whinney and George Malseed
Year 6 - Maelys Haynes for showing great sportsmanship by offering to help another team without hesitation or fuss, when they were short of players. This gesture honours the spirit of the sport, fosters camaraderie and shows respect.
Congratulations to Year 6 student Alex Monsbourgh, who finished the Maths Olympiad competition in the top 25% of competitors across Australasia. This year’s four competition papers were particularly difficult, and Alex is to be applauded for his excellent achievement. Certificates for Maths Olympiad and Maths Games participants will be presented at our Week 6 Assembly on Thursday, 13 November.
We walk and ride to school tomorrow. Students and parents are requested to assemble on the Neil Maclean Hockey Field at the Senior Campus for a 9.00 am departure.
Before School Care will run as normal, and supervision will be provided at Junior School for students unable to walk/ride. Students with Friday lunch orders can drop them into Mrs Povey on arrival at the Junior School. If the weather is inclement, we will make a call at around 8.15 am as to whether our plans to walk/ride remain in place.
Next Thursday, 6 November, isOrientation Day for the Junior School students. Our Year 6s will spend the day at the Senior Campus, joining others enrolled in Year 7 for 2026. Our Prep to Year Five students will step up to meet their 2026 teachers in their new classrooms. It is always an exciting day. We also look forward to welcoming new students to the Junior School. 2026 Junior School staffing will be announced to parents via email on Wednesday, 5 November.
A reminder, there is only one week left for students to hand in artwork to be considered for the covers of the 2026 Student Diaries. This year, our theme is ‘College Opportunities’. Artwork, with the student’s name and class on the back, can be handed to Mrs Povey in the Junior School Reception. The final date for submission is Friday, 7 November.
