Principal's Message

Concert Tonight!
We are looking forward to our biannual BNPS concert, happening tonight in the multi-purpose room. Class bands have been rehearsing for this night for months, with many hours of practise culminating in this event. Music is a highly valued part of the curriculum at BNPS, and to be able to perform as a band is a fantastic example of how we work together at BNPS to achieve our goals.
Whilst we have had to pivot to performing inside due to the potentially hazardous weather, I know all will show resilience and the event will be a magnificent success.
Thank you to Roby, Paul and the classroom teachers for their work in preparing this evening. I would also like to thank families for organising the costumes ready to be on stage tonight. We're all excited for the show.
SWPBS - Whole school goal achieved!
Last week we achieved our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) goal of reaching 500 acknowledgements for building a kindness culture. That is 500 times we have shown generosity, care, empathy and support to each other. It is these many small actions which build a culture that supports student wellbeing and learning.
To celebrate, the whole school will be going on a picnic to Gillon oval, this coming Tuesday December 2. We will be having our picnic in the afternoon, if you are free please come and join us! More details will be sent out via Compass.
We are now working towards our new goal - Practising Showing a Growth Mindset. A growth mindset is believing you can get better at things through practice and effort, rather than thinking your abilities are fixed. We look forward to building this behaviour in our students over the coming weeks.
Transition to 2026
Over the coming weeks we will be working through our Transition Program to prepare students for 2026. All students will visit their new learning area next week, to familiarise themselves with the space and the learning routines. On December 9 students will meet their new teacher and class, setting them up for a successful beginning to the new year.
We understand that some students will need additional supports throughout this transition. Classroom teachers and the Wellbeing Team will be working with students and families to ensure all are ready to learn at the beginning of 2026.
Sports Day & Fete
Our fantastic Parents and Friends committee are working hard as ever to create events for our community to connect and celebrate together. Our annual Sports Day is next week on December 5, please sign up here if you are able to assist on the day.
We are also getting ready for the BNPS Twilight Fete, scheduled for Friday 20 March 2026. There is a great team already assembled, if you are keen to assist on the day, we would love your help. Please sign up here.
