Year 8 News

Ms Naidu

Year 8 Leader of Learning

As we near the end of another busy and successful term, we are so proud of how far our Year 8 students have come in 2025. The growth, maturity and engagement we have seen across the cohort is a testament to their hard work and to the continued support of our families and teachers.

What We’ve Been Up To

Earlier this term, all Year 8 students participated in the Mashed Theatre “Toxic” presentation, a powerful and interactive performance exploring healthy relationships, respect and the impact of online behaviours. A huge thank you to our Wellbeing Team for organising such an engaging and thought-provoking experience.

Each class also had the opportunity to visit our Doctors in Secondary Schools clinic. This visit helped students familiarise themselves with the service and understand that free, confidential appointments can be booked directly through Compass. We know it’s not always easy to access a GP and we hope this encourages them to seek support when needed.

Looking Ahead

Our Year 8 students have now completed their peer preference forms as we begin the process of building 2026 Year 9 classes. This is a careful and considered process that takes into account elective choices, student learning environments, wellbeing needs and positive connections.

In Week 11, students will participate in the Year 9 Connect Program, spending two days getting a taste of what’s ahead, meeting their new teachers, classmates and exploring their future learning spaces. Then, three days filled with Year 8 celebrations, as we reflect on the year that’s been and recognise the personal successes of every student.

Thank You

remained strong and we look forward to ending the year on a positive note, celebrating growth, learning and connection.

Year 8 has truly been a year of growth, resilience and connection. We can’t wait to see what our students achieve next!
