Division Athletics

On a less than ideal cold, windy and wet athletics day. A large group of students represented both themselves and RNPS at the Division Athletics event. Competing against the Maroondah, Manningham and Yarra District, making it to this stage is a wonderful effort and a great experience to understand the level it takes to compete with some of the best students in the state. All students who competed on the day did so in a fantastic manner and gave it their very best.

The following students did exceptionally well and will be competing at State level on Thursday.

Alex H - Triple Jump - 2nd

Jai K - 80m Hurdles - 1st

Milla C - Long Jump - 1st

Seamus O - 80m Hurdles - 2nd

Isaac L - Discus - 1st High Jump - 2nd

Girls 12/13 4/100m Relay - 2nd

Island Escape Incursion

What a fantastic day students had during their Island Escape incursion. Students worked in teams and competed in challenges throughout the day to try and earn their team the most treasure.

The day started with teams trying to create the tallest tower with certain items but the challenge was that they could not talk! Next up they had to rescue their worm and place him into his lifebuoy and then into his raft, only using paperclips. They then needed to secure their worm into their life raft and connect to a zipline. Fastest raft down the biplane won more treasure for their team.

The teachers and facilitators were also on the lookout for great teamwork, listening and creativity, to reward these awesome skills with more treasure. The day ended with Mrs Kayo trying (unsuccessfully) to move cotton balls from one container to the other blindfolded, Issy definitely won this one.

All students showed great cooperation and resilience throughout the day, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
