STUDY CLUB

Students To Understand Devote Yourself CLUB!

MCC Study Club was implemented in 2015 and its progress has shown to be positive, providing a safe and assisted learning environment where students are able to complete set tasks, prepare for assessments or simply revise and study.

Here at Marian we offer learning opportunities outside school hours to improve the learning success of students and influence positive education and personal outcomes. Here at Marian we understand students can be disadvantaged by financial resources and students with English as a second language are unable to provide strong educational support. We offer one-on-one support from teachers and experienced year 12 students to work together in groups to develop good study habits and support the students needs to complete homework tasks and decrease social isolation.

Our aim is to increase student engagement with their learning by increasing student’s academic engagement and academic.  Through regular attendance, students are able to increase their learning, participate in activities and develop their academic skills.

As the year is nearing towards the end of Term 4, assessments have slowed down and Study Club will now be ending for the rest of the year. We would like to thank the students, year 12 leadership team, and staff who assisted, supported and made commitments to attend every Tuesday afternoon.

MCC Study Club will be back 2025!

IT SESSION FOR GRIFFITH SENIORS

Wednesday 30 October, the students were back into action with their IT Skills. We had two enthusiastic learners ready to ask our expert students technical questions, how to send photos to messages and how to attach documents to an email to print from a Mobile phone. Students wasted no time and were ready to respond to Mr Blimp & Mrs Rhonda Catanzariti queries with professionalism and service with a smile.

The students attending the November session were; Zeinab AL Jawifi, Kameli Loaloadravu, Therese Nicholls, Kurosh Parsa and Lemafoe Setefano from years 7, 8, 9, and 12.

The IT Session ended with Mrs Rhona Catanzariti enquiries about her email settings and adding the next session as an event on her calendar on the mobile. Mrs Catanzariti took notes as the students each took turns describing the steps of each IT query.

The next IT Session for Griffith Seniors will be held at the Griffith City Library, Wednesday 27 November and will be our last session of the year.

Thank you, Sharmaine Delgado from the Griffith City Library, for giving Marian students the opportunity to share their IT Skills and knowledge with Griffith Seniors and promoting these services to our local seniors and areas surrounding Griffith.
