Feast Day Mass

Today was a special day for our College community. We celebrated the Feast of the Stigmata of Saint Francis of Assisi. It refers to the miracle experienced by Francis towards the end of his life while he was praying on Mount La Verna.

As he was in deep contemplation, Saint Francis saw a vision of Jesus crucified on the cross, accompanied by an angel with six fiery wings. When Francis saw this, he was overwhelmed. His whole body was flooded with a mixture of joy and sorrow, and he developed on his own body, ‘stigmata,’ the “bodily marks resembling the wounds of the crucified Christ.”

May this Feast Day invite us to be people of faith and courage. May we deepen our love of God, and in so doing, strive to become what God calls us to be, especially through our love for our neighbour.

We extend our thanks to Fr Harry for leading our community in mass.
