Community Pizza Night

Keep your eye on your inbox or Compass – I've been looking forward to this one!

I would like to invite our Marlborough community to join us at the school to enjoy some pizza and conversation. The event will be held at the school on Wednesday the 1st of November, between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Our Community Pizza Night will serve as an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and experiences of the school, and, importantly, give us an opportunity to get to know one another better.

There will be more information about the event in the Compass post. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!

Chrome Books

Thank you to the efforts of a dedicated Parent's Association. The money raised throughout the year continues to enhance the resources to which our students have access in their classrooms. We have just deployed another 6 Chromebooks into the Grade 5/6 classrooms, and more are on the way!

Lockdown

You are probably already well aware that we experienced a lockdown at the school last week. I am really proud of the way our students and teachers responded to the situation. As always, we refine our processes and strive to make improvements to what was already a very well-documented and executed process.

2024 School Leadership Applications

I was able to visit the grade 5 students on Wednesday 18th to discuss student leadership positions for next year. There was a buzz of excitement and plenty of questions in the room when discussing the possibilities for next year. I look forward to seeing the applications trickle in over the coming weeks and working with our students and teachers to decide who our student leaders will be next year.

2024 Prep Transition

Our 2024 prep students were welcomed to Marlborough Primary this week. They enjoyed a thoughtful and engaging session where they were given a small taste of primary school life. We look forward to more of these sessions over the coming weeks and welcoming these students next year.

5/6 Camp

Next week, our senior students are set to embark on a 3-day camp at Sovereign Hill, and the excitement is certainly building. Some of them even fancy themselves as 'prospectors' hoping to strike gold during their time there. However, in case they find themselves without such luck, they can take solace in enjoying a few treats at an all-time great lolly shop. This camp is closely tied to the 5/6 Humanities curriculum and will allow the students to delve deeper into the impact of the gold rush on Australian and Victorian history.

Warmly,
