SUSTAINABILITY NEWS

The Gardening Club and Yr 5/6FA students were very busy in our gardens today! The first week of our Compost Ninjas program has been a great success, with students collecting food scraps every day, and today we cut them up small and fed them to our worms. We planted broccoli seedlings into small pots, ready to go into our big garden beds in a few weeks. We also continued our makeover of the front gardens, and Ms Belinda was very lucky to be donated several buckets of nice soil and compost, so today we planted Salvias, Jonquils and Freesias, which will look beautiful soon. The Year 5/6s were a great help with spreading straw over our garden, to help keep the soil moist.

SUPER 20% DISCOUNTS - ORDER YOUR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE BOXES

Farmers’ Pick have offered us a huge 20% off for all new orders! Trinity is participating in the ‘Feed Our School’ fundraising initiative by Farmers Pick, an organisation that prevents ‘perfectly imperfect’ fruit and veg from ending up in landfill by selling boxes of this produce that supermarkets can't. Families can order fruit and veg boxes online, and have it conveniently delivered to Trinity every Tuesday.  Better yet, their produce is priced up to 30% less than at the supermarket, and Trinity receives $5 for every box ordered! See flyers attached for more information.

NUDE FOOD DAY - NEW DAY - THURSDAYS

Congratulations 1/2MB, who had 10 Nude Food lunches today, followed by PrepAK with 8, 1/2 with 7, 3/4VA with 6 and 3/4TR with 5 rubbish free lunches.   We ask students to choose foods which create no rubbish to bring for lunch on Thursdays. Let’s see how many students can bring a rubbish free lunch next week!
