1/2 AS Learning

It has been a very busy time in 1/2AS and we are already nearing the end of week 5!

In Mathematics we have started to work on measurement.  This week we are looking at measuring the length of various things using informal and formal units (see photos). 

Next week we will be working on mass and capacity.

In literacy we are continuing to work on our sounds. This week our phoneme is /er/ with the graphemes ir and ur and next week we will continue this phoneme with the grapheme er. In reading we have been comparing and contrasting stories and then identifying the differences and similarities in the stories.  In writing the students have been focussing on persuasive writing with students writing their opinion about something and then writing 3 reasons why they have this opinion.
