Hello everyone,
We are the Mini Vinnies Team at Trinity for 2024. We are Charlie, Loki, Aidan, Sophie, Nahier, Alex,Humphery amd Georgia!
We would like to tell everyone about our social justice project for this term
called “Fill the Van”
This project is to support the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society in Richmond
and through the Parish of St Ignatius.
Did you know...
More than one in five children in Australia today live in a food-insecure household. That means that for some children they may go to bed without any dinner or go to school without any breakfast.
Vinnies with the generous donations of communities like our school will then provide food hampers to families that are struggling to make ends meet.
Winter is an especially challenging time for many people and families struggling to make ends meet, for the homeless and for people feeling cold because they do not have warm clothes,a scarf or even warm socks!
At Trinity, we will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for example: tinned soup, tinned vegetables, sauce and jam, pasta, tuna, beans, rice, biscuits, noodles, cereal, long life milk.
We will also be collecting WINTER clothing that is clean and in good condition.
Winter clothing can be put in plastic bags. Donations will be collected at the end of this term and will be collected by Vinnies.
The donations will then be distributed to families in need by St Vincent de Paul society workers.
We would like to thank everyone for listening today and for your support in the “Fill the van project" This will help many people and families in need.
The Social Justice Leaders and our Mini Vinnies Team will visit your classrooms next week and talk to you more about this project that Trinity will support.
You can also leave donations in the tub at the office.
Thank you for your support.
If at any time you would like to chat about anything wellbeing related at Trinity, or you have any questions or concerns about your child's wellbeing, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher or myself.
