Dear Parents,

SEMESTER ONE REPORTS

Kindergarten to Year 6 Semester One progress reports will be available on Compass on Wednesday 26th June from 4pm. Please read your child's report keeping in mind that student grades are determined from class participation and bookwork as well as ongoing formal and informal assessments. Your child's report will reflect their achievement of the learning outcomes which have been addressed in their grade for Semester 1 2024.

Parents will also be able to organise 15 minute parent/teacher interviews for the week following the release of the reports. Please take advantage to chat to your child's teacher about their progress and work together to set learning goals for Semester 2.

MORNING TURNING CIRCLE

Please be reminded that the same rules as the afternoon turning circle apply in the mornings. Even though the turning circle flows a bit differently in the mornings as cars arrive at different times, adults should not leave their vehicle at any time, especially to open car boots and remove bags etc.  Students should only exit the vehicle from the curb side door. This can be more difficult on Fridays when students carry instruments, but your assistance in this matter will ensure the morning turning circle remains safe for all.

PARENT PICK UP

Students who are on parent pick up walk to the grass area at 3.10 each afternoon. Please wait on the grass area for your child to come to you rather than crowding the asphalt area. As well, no student should be collected by parents from the turning circle lines until 3.10pm. Can this message be shared to any grandparents or other family members who regularly collect your child from school.

ABSENCE REQUIREMENTS

It is a requirement to explain all absences from school. This is done through Compass. Please ensure all absences are explained at the time of absence. Unexplained absences will be automatically changed to 'unjustified' on Compass after a set period of time if an explanation is not received. Mrs Cahill regularly sends home unexplained email follow up reminders. Please check your child's Compass record for any unexplained absences.

Regular attendance at school is very important. The table below shows what your child's absence rate equates to in percentages if they miss school. We all know that illness cannot be avoided, but it is alarming to think of the effect on a child's education that missing lots of days can have. If your child has an attendance rate of concern, teachers will discuss this with you further at parent teacher interviews to determine ways to support you to ensure regular attendance occurs.

Have a great week.
