Dear parents and guardians,

It is National Reconciliation week beginning with the anniversary of National Sorry Day on the 26th of May. We would like to recognise and pay our respects to our First Nation People.   It is a National Day of Healing, commemorating the Stolen Generations. It is part of the ongoing efforts towards reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

The theme for Reconciliation week is “Now More Than Ever” so that we remember that the reconciliation is an ongoing process and that there is still a long way to go to stop the discrimination of our First Nations People.

I would like to thank the contribution of First Nations people to our learning and the health of the environment we live in. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

There have been a number of books that have helped me understand Indigenous perspectives and learn form other peoples point of view.

Thanks regards T
