Year 4

Hello from 4R

On the 20th of May Year 4 students headed to Melbourne Zoo for the day. This excursion was chosen based on our Inquiry unit that is Endangered Animals. Students walked around the zoo in their classes, getting to explore the elephant trail walk, gorilla rainforest walk and the lion gorge walk. We also had the opportunity to walk through the reptile enclosures, and the Australian Animals. Students attended keeper talks, as well as an education session that focused on changing environments and habitats. Students were set the task of identifying the differences between certain habitats and environments. We had a great day and learnt a lot!

In recent weeks, Year 4 students have enjoyed making banana puff pastries, as well as smashed avocado wraps during food science. Students have been cooperating and working well in their groups to follow the method correctly, and clean up thoroughly at the end. We can’t wait to continue making yummy foods in Food Science.
