Principal's Report

Communication

We kindly ask for your cooperation in promptly answering phone calls from our school and returning any missed calls as soon as possible.  Your timely response is crucial in ensuring effective communication regarding your child’s safety, academic progress, and school events. By staying in touch, we can work together to provide the best support and care for your children. Please remember, only respectful communication is warranted at LPS.

Thank you for your attention and understanding in this matter.

It’s That Time of the Year…..

The colds, viruses and flus are upon us. Whilst it is important all students attend school and miss as few days as possible; it is also important not to send sick students into classrooms.  The school has a responsibility to call parents to pick up students displaying symptoms of colds or flu.

Our teachers at times also get struck down by illness.  So not sending your child to school with symptoms protects our teachers from not needing time away from their class due to illness.

Year 5 Campers

Year 5 camp is currently underway at Forest Edge camp, Neerim South.  This is another fantastic camp that our students go on with many activities that will push students outside of their comfort zone, allowing them to further develop their resilience and confidence.

Camps are one of the most amazing experiences of our primary school time and I would like to thank the teachers, school staff and parents who have organized and those who are currently supervising this camp!

Loooong King’s Birthday Weekend

Don’t forget Tuesday 11th June is a pupil free day.  Team Kids are available for care on this day if you need to utilize the service.

Our staff will be working with Karina Stocker on Literacy instruction.

Reconciliation Week

Last week we ventured across to the EMC flag raising ceremony with our Deadly Little Langy students.  This is an annual event for our indigenous students and one that helps keep them connected to country.

Thanks to Mrs Humphrey for organizing this opportunity and to the EMC students for sharing their stories. The theme of Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will, and must, continue.

Have a great fortnight,

Mr Moorhouse
