Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day because of the tradition of wearing a poppy, is a memorial day observed since the end of the First World War honouring the soldiers who have died in the line of duty. At Trinity we honoured Remembrance Day in our classrooms.
This week in Prep, the children have been learning about Place Value. Ms Anna is explicitly teaching place value to the children. She uses the 'I do, we do, you do' strategy where she teaches first, they learn together and then students practice the new skill independently. This teaching approach is called the 'gradual release of responsibility'.
This week our junior classes participated in the Outdoor Ed program. The 1/2's enjoyed some tent making, outdoor activities, a pizza dinner and movie. The Prep children enjoyed the afternoon at Kew Traffic School, they helped cook their pasta dinner and they enjoyed a variety of fun camping activities when they were back at school.
Last week the Fire Fighters visited our Prep students. The children learnt about being safe around fires.
Children's liturgy will be held on this Sunday 17th of November at the 11am Mass at St James Church.
