We are excited to announce that this year, we had two winners in the Berthe Mouchette French Poetry competition.
Alina D from Year 3 won the Berthe Mouchette drawing competition with a beautiful illustration of her poem, ‘Pirogue’. You can check out her exceptional artwork below:
Sophie from Year 4 was awarded ‘un mention spéciale du jury’ which means she received a special mention from the judging panel, achieving top marks in her poetry recital. Bravo Sophie!
On the 26th of November, Monsieur Paul and I were delighted to attend the Alliance Française awards ceremony at St Kilda Town Hall. It was so special to watch our winners take to the podium to receive their medals and goody bags full of prizes. It was a really special evening and we are so proud of Alina and Sophie for their outstanding achievements.
As always, it’s been a busy term in the French department. We can’t quite believe it’s the end of Week 8 already!
Prep have been learning a catchy song 'La Salade de Fruits' (The Fruit Salad) to help us learn the names of fruits for our fruit salad recipe. We’re looking forward to eating our fruit salad skewers next week!
The Preps have also been learning to describe their pets. There were so many great ‘Missing’ animal posters to display, it was hard to choose! We hope their pets are found soon!
Year 1 have been learning to describe the seasons and how they differ from one side of the world to the other. We love how much detail Tillie has put into her seasonal drawings.
Year 2 designed posters to describe animals and their habitats. These wonderful examples are really adding a splash of colour to our French classroom.
Year 3 created a French script to give a tour of their dream houses. They then used iMovie to record voiceovers of their scripts. Eden even added an English translation so viewers could follow along!
Year 4 have been busy creating props and filming their versions of 'Les Trois Petits Cochons' (The Three Little Pigs). Monsieur Paul and I have really been blown away by the quality and effort the students have put into their work.
Year 5 created bilingual posters to investigate the lives of famous French people. There were some really creative ways of displaying this information this year.
Year 6 produced yearbooks of their time at PMPS using 'le passé composé' as well as describing their future plans using 'le futur simple'. We love Dulguun’s front cover.
