Dear Families,
Just like that we go from week 4 to almost week 6 with this week’s shortened week. We hope all our families and Willy Kids had a chance to freshen up.
Monday’s curriculum day was an allocated report writing day for teaching staff, while our education staff undertook a series of required professional development. Although the end of the school year doesn't seem that far away, there are still many events, activities and learning to come. So we are looking forward to enjoying the ride.
Wheelchair Football
A big thank you to Chris Henderson and the Richmond Wheelchair Football squad, who this week ran wheelchair football clinics for our year 3-6 students. This was a great opportunity for our students to better understand the importance of inclusive sport. A big thank you to Paddy for organising funding for this event which linked in well with last term's inclusive sport unit in PE.
Class Placement
Dear families, in the week 2 school newsletter we advised families that if they had any information the school needed to consider regarding their child’s class placement for 2025 that it be emailed directly to me by Friday 25th October. Please be aware that the class placement process is well on its way and that unfortunately I am unable to receive any further considerations.
This includes student and teacher requests which we are unable to take due to the complexities and layers of the process.
The complexities of the class placement sees the process undertaken across 4-5 weeks. Along with student-identified learning buddies, teachers use their strong understanding of each student and how they learn to make informed decisions about the best academic, social and emotional decisions. Please rest assured that every thought has gone into the placement of each Willy.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this process.
Reminders
Families Relocating/Leaving
Term 4 is zooming past and this means plans for 2025 are well on the way. The end of year brings lots of changes and for some it is a geographical change. We are asking any families who will be moving on in 2025 who haven't already contacted the office to do so. This information will ensure the school has all the required information moving into next year.
Warm regards,
Mat
