Principal Update

Chris Quinn
Dear Western Port Secondary College Community,
Womin Djeka – Hello and welcome to another edition of the ‘THE WESTERN PORT WORD’ which will continue to provide our community with a range of updates throughout the year.
The final term of the year is always a special one, and for me, 2024 holds particular significance. This Year 12 group began as Year 7 students when I first began my Principalship at Western Port Secondary College and I am immensely proud to see them complete their secondary journey in our state-of-the-art senior centre.
True to the Western Port Way of supporting Every Student, Every Day, our Careers and Pathways team has worked closely with each Year 12 student to establish strong post-secondary pathways, ensuring they are well-prepared for life beyond school.
In line with our college tradition, our Year 12’s recently celebrated their final day with a breakfast at Hastings Foreshore, followed by a walk down High Street, enjoying the warmth and well-wishes of our local community members and shop owners. It was a wholesome and memorable way for them to mark this milestone
Next week, all families will receive communication from year-level teams regarding the Term 4 Parent/Carer survey. Your feedback has been invaluable in guiding our school’s strategic direction, and I strongly encourage all families to respond to this survey as we capture more of your insights to help us continually refine and improve our work.
As we enter the second half of Term 4, please continue to support students from home with regards to completion of all coursework and summative assessment tasks as we close in on our Jump Start program, where students will transition into their 2025 classes later this month.
Thank you for your continued support as important and valued members of our school community.
Kind Regards,
Chris Quinn
Principal
