We are very excited to announce a second Japanese competition!
Students are to design a Kimono (traditional Japanese robes). The final designs can be given to the Japanese Leaders or Mr Reeves.
Submissions may be hand drawn or printed-out and coloured in, like the one below.

Good luck!
Art
Level 1 students have been busy creating a mixed media floral collage. They used a wax resist technique to create the vase and observed visual conventions such as, foreground, background, overlapping and ‘outside the frame’ when arranging the flowers.
Level 3 students noted the shapes and patterns of traditional Greek vases, and used symmetry as a basis to create a decorative Greek vase. Some students opted to paint their vase using acrylic paints and employed various techniques such as scratch back and wax markings to achieve the patterns.
Level 5 students observed the concept of radial symmetry to create a relief print. They first painted concentric circles for the background and designed a pattern that could be rotated four times to create a full circle.
There is a sneak preview of what to expect from our creative level 6 students for their Graduation pieces. Please note: these artworks are at varying stages of completion.
