Principal's Update

St Joseph's is a child-safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students.

Good afternoon families ...

School Fete

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible support of our school fete.  Our families' willingness to volunteer, donate and attend the event made it a significant community event.  We appreciate everything you contributed.  With your help, we were able to raise valuable funds that will benefit our students and enhance our beautiful school setting.

We are so fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated group of parents, staff, and students who come together to make events like the school fete possible.  A special thank you to the Fete Committee who did a wonderful job organising everything.

Grandparents & Grandfriends Day

It was wonderful to see so many attend our special celebration last week. This is truly the highlight of our, and our children's year at school.  Many thanks to parents who volunteered their time to organise the beautiful morning tea.

Teachers Gifts Clarification

It is commendable that our parents wish to thank teachers for the work they do.  However, we are no longer able, as an organisation (CES Limited) to request, collect and/or handle money for staff gifts.  This is to protect the safety and integrity of all people involved.

Thank you for your understanding.

Staffing Update

I wish to announce and congratulate Julie Cornwall's recent re-appointment as Deputy Principal of St Joseph's.  Her appointment comes after an exhaustive CESL employment process.

Goodbye - Helen Dillon

Helen has recently advised that she will resign from St Joseph's to pursue other interests. Helen has been invaluable in her roles as Library Technician/Administrative Assistant, and a valuable and much-loved staff member. We wish her all the best for the future.

2025 Class Representatives

We are currently finalising the Role Description for the 2025 Class Reps with the School Advisory Council.  Expressions of interest will be sent out next week in a hope to have the positions filled before years end.

Christmas Concert

We look forward to welcoming families and friends to our special Christmas concert on Thursday, December 5 at 6.00pm under the 'Shebang'.   Bring a chair and enjoy the show.

Change of finishing time 2025

As of next year, our school day will end at 3.15pm to align with other local schools.

With this change, it is a good time to start considering your end-of-day plans.  Here are some questions to help you prepare:

  • Have you thought about your pick-up or after-school arrangements for 2025?
  • Did you know that St Joseph’s offers Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) through the YMCA?
  • Would you consider networking with other families for carpooling or shared pick-ups?
  • Are your children prepared to walk home or to another safe pick-up location?

We are here to assist all families during this transition, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

School Saving Bonus Information

We have received notification from the Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA) that Non-Government school students currently receiving the means tested Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) are eligible for the Victorian Government's $400 School Saving Bonus.  More information to come however, if you have received the CSEF this year you do not need to take any further action to receive this year's School Saving Bonus payment.

School Fees & Levies

Statements for school fees & levies are emailed to families.  Please check your statement and contact the office if you have any questions.

It is expected that all school fees and levies are finalised each year by the start of December.

The school provides a variety of options for payment of school fees and levies - in full at the start of the school year / part payment at the start of each school term / by direct debit – weekly, fortnightly, or monthly / by direct payment into the school bank account or by regular payments at the school office by cash or EFTPOS.   You can even pay over the phone if you wish.

It is important that payment of school fees and levies are honoured and prompt payment is much appreciated.  However, if you are experiencing difficulty meeting your obligation for payment, please contact the school to arrange a time to discuss this with the Principal, Mr Peter Teggelove.
