Individual Achievement

A special mention goes to Tom in Year 12 for an outstanding year in sport. From competing at the National Snow Sports Championships, to athletics and representing the school across a range of individual sporting events, Tom’s athletic ability, commitment and achievements have been exceptional.

PDHPE in the Classroom

Juniors

Stage 4 students this term have been studying a wide range of topics in PDHPE.

Year 7 has been learning why health matters in theory classes and participating in Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee for practical lessons.

Year 8 has been learning how to effectively support others’ health, safety, wellbeing and participation in physical activity. In practical lessons, year 8 students have been creating their own workout routines.

Stage 5 students had an inspiring term, attending Olympics Unleashed, where they heard motivating stories from Olympian Olivia Price. In PDHPE, they explored the significant impact of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australian sport and culture. Students also showcased their creativity by choreographing their own dances, demonstrating great enthusiasm and talent.

Life Ready - bstreetsmart Excursion

Earlier this term, the entire Year 11 cohort attended the annual bstreetsmart Youth and Road Trauma Forum at Sydney Olympic Park, joining thousands of senior students from across New South Wales. With many in the year group having recently acquired their Learner driver licences or working towards their Provisional P1 plates, the excursion delivered a timely and sobering message about the responsibilities that come with being on the road.

Through live crash simulations, interactions with emergency services personnel, and firsthand accounts from trauma survivors, students gained a deeper understanding of risk awareness, the consequences of distraction, and their role in keeping themselves and their peers safe - both as drivers and as passengers. Our cohort represented the school with outstanding respect and maturity throughout what was an emotionally powerful day.

Preliminary & HSC

As our senior students complete their courses, there is a real sense of excitement about the future. We would especially like to acknowledge Year 12 for their dedication and effort in PDHPE. We wish them every success as they finalise their HSC year, keep studying diligently and consistently!

A special mention goes to all Year 12 students who participated in the soccer, Oztag, and volleyball matches against their teachers. These three fantastic games created wonderful memories for everyone involved.

Year 11 students have also impressed us repeatedly with their achievements this term. With their final year of school just around the corner, it is an exciting time for our senior students all around.
