Level 1
Writing and Reading
In Writing this week students have been loving exploring the Night Zookeeper. We have been following a story on Literacy Shed where students are learning the ins and outs of creating and writing an exciting narrative. Students have developed a character, setting and problem for their own individualised stories. Students have been completing a ‘Slow Write’ which encourages them to slow down their writing to speed up their thinking!
Numeracy
We have loved exploring patterns through a range of hands-on materials this week. We have challenged ourselves with creating and developing patterns using attributes like shape, size and colour. Students have worked on problem solving using number patterns to determine the pattern’s rule.
Inquiry
We have continued our whole level inquiry projects, mixing with other classes to allow students to focus on and dive deep into learning about their chosen country for our Geography unit this term. We have been super busy building and researching for our exciting Inquiry Expo pieces.
Fathers Day
We loved welcoming our dads and special people into our classroom last week. Students love sharing their work and having people come and visit in the classroom. We played Array Wars, a building tower competition and completed a guided drawing with our visitors!
