Student Representative Council
Hello Karoo Community,
Throughout Term 3, our SRCs have voted on getting a Gaga Ball Pit. This idea was based of our experiences at Year 6 Camp. Massive crowds flooded the pit and everyone had so much fun! But there was only one person who we needed to convince for us to have a Gaga Pit at school... and that was Mrs. Heatley! This inspired us to start a petition across the whole school. The SRCs and our wonderful selves went across the school to let our students put their names down on a piece of paper if they wanted a Gaga Pit. In total, we had 396 students who wanted this to happen! From there, we invited Mrs. Heatley down to our next SRC meeting to show her our successful campaign. Now we can get a GAGA BALL PIT!
THANK YOU SO MUCH KAROO,
Charlize B & Cooper W
P.S. For those who don't know what a Gaga Pit looks like and what the rules are, have a look down below!
- All players start the game by holding on to the edges of the pit
- 1 player standing in the middle throws the ball up in the air
- When the ball bounces once everyone yells "Ga"
- When the ball bounces twice everyone yells "GaGa" and can rush to the ball to hit it with their hand aiming to knock out other players
- If a player is hit on the waist or below they are out
- If a player hits the ball out of the pit they are out
- If a player who exited catches a ball on the fly out, they can re-enter the game
- You cannot pickup the ball
- You cannot kick the ball as this counts as below the waist contact and means you are out
- You can dribble the ball for just 3 seconds
- Last player is the winner
